Greetings, I’m Mary Dawn Weston, LICSW, a compassionate and experienced therapist dedicated to helping individuals, couples, and teens navigate trauma, anxiety, depression, codependency, and other mental health challenges.
As the founder of Weston Counseling Center, I bring extensive experience from both private practice and leadership roles — including serving as Director of Alabama’s Department of Corrections Pre‑Release Program and as a Child Abuse and Neglect Investigator with the Department of Human Resources. These experiences have deepened my understanding of resilience and the power of personalized, evidence‑based care for people from all walks of life.
I specialize in trauma‑focused therapy, integrating Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, and Motivational Interviewing (MI) to help clients regulate the nervous system, process emotions, and build lasting resilience.
I combine psychoeducation with insights from the neurobiology of human behavior, helping you understand not just what you feel, but why you feel it — and how to work with your mind and body to support long‑term healing.
If you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected, know that healing and change are possible. I provide a safe, supportive space where you can recover your balance, strengthen your sense of self, and create meaningful, lasting change.
